Jessica Mandrick was born in Spangler, PA. She considers herself an “American mutt,” with a European ancestry that includes Ukrainian, French, German, Irish, Polish and Austrian. Growing up, she was influenced by artists such as Kandinsky, Degas, and Deborah Butterfield.
Ms. Mandrick holds dual degrees from Swarthmore College – in Engineering and Studio Art. She works at Gilsanz Murray Steficek, a structural engineering firm in New York City where she has been involved in the engineering for public sculpture, museum art installation projects, as well as new construction and renovations. A multi-award winner sculptor, Ms. Mandrick enjoys welding and sculpting in wax and bronze.
